No chasing families
School staff are not expected to manage missed donations, arrears or Direct Debit administration.
Edge education programmes
FRF gives schools a credible way to widen access to learning devices while keeping parent donation handling, missed-payment administration, repairs, replacements and reporting away from already stretched school teams.
Programme design
Parent contributions through FRF are voluntary charitable donations. They are not school fees, rent, lease payments or payments for goods. Schools keep a clear access route for families without taking on donation collection, missed-payment chasing or arrears administration.
School burden removed
| Concern | Typical route | Edge route |
|---|---|---|
| Parent collection | School staff collect, track or chase contributions. | Donation administration is handled away from the school. |
| Missed donations | Business teams can become drawn into arrears and disputes. | The school is not responsible for arrears handling or Direct Debit admin. |
| Device continuity | A damaged device can interrupt learning for the pupil. | Repair flow and spare devices keep pupils connected. |
| Reporting | Schools piece together finance, device and support information. | Edge provides programme reporting and device tracking support. |
What Edge does
Edge acts across procurement coordination, parent donation administration, device preparation, tracking, repair and replacement flow, reporting and continuity planning.
Why it matters
School staff are not expected to manage missed donations, arrears or Direct Debit administration.
Families receive careful language explaining the charitable access route and the support available.
Spare devices and repair flow reduce the chance of a pupil being stuck without access.
FRF contributions are voluntary charitable donations. They are not payments for a device, lease, rental, school fee or purchase agreement. Edge keeps the parent administration route separate from school payment collection.
